Oasis of biodiversity with irresistible charm

It occupies a very important portion of the territory of the Emilia-Romagna Region. Starting to the north from the course of the Po di Goro River, it develops to encompass the entire historic delta of the Po River and the mouths of some Apennine rivers such as the Reno, the Lamone, the Fiumi Uniti, the Bevano, and brackish wetlands located along the Adriatic coast and in the immediate hinterland such as the Sacca di Goro the Valli di Comacchio, the Piallasse Ravennati, the Saline di Cervia, the inland freshwater wetlands of the Valli di Campotto, and woods and pine forests such as the Bosco della Mesola and the Pineta di San Vitale. There is also a very rich endowment of important monuments: the Pomposa Abbey, S. Apollinare in Classe, chiaviche and hydraulic regulation artifacts, the historic centers of Mesola, Comacchio, Ravenna and Cervia themselves.
