Asparagus IGP of Mesola

The refined flavor, as per tradition

In the fertile soils at the mouth of the Po River, which are sandy in nature and rich in water, about 40 percent of Emilia-Romagna's asparagus production is concentrated.
The riparian municipalities in the province of Ferrara, from Mesola to Bondeno, are included in the production area of the Green Asparagus of Altedo.
Because of its refined and pleasantly herbaceous flavor, it is now highly sought after nationally and in Europe.
In terms of nutritional characteristics, asparagus is richer in fiber than other vegetables and provides limited amounts of fats, proteins and sugars, while it is rich in mineral elements that are essential for humans, particularly calcium, phosphorus, magnesium and potassium.
This vegetable is also good in antioxidants as well as vitamins A, B6 and C and is an excellent source of folic acid.
